1. Vallée de la Marne

The Vallée de la Marne stretches along the course of the Marne River and is one of the largest and most diverse areas of Champagne. The Meunier grape variety predominates here, particularly well-suited to the valley's clay soils and slightly milder climate. The wines are characterized by fruitiness, softness, and great approachability, while retaining the region's typical freshness. In addition to Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are also used, often blended in balanced and complex cuvées. In recent decades, many small winemakers have focused on individual parcels and less intrusive cultivation methods. The result is Champagnes that increasingly possess their own distinct identity and are deeply rooted in their terroir.
