3. Côte des Blancs

The Côte des Blancs is considered the realm of Chardonnay and is one of the most prestigious areas of Champagne. Its soils, rich in chalk, favor wines of exceptional elegance, structure, and longevity. Villages such as Avize, Cramant, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger are among the region's most famous. Champagnes produced here are characterized by citrus and floral notes, as well as a pronounced minerality. Many winemakers work on individual plots or in specific villages to highlight the nuances of the terroir. The Côte des Blancs is often associated with the most refined and age-worthy Champagnes of the appellation.
