17. Sardegna

Sardinia is one of the most fascinating wine regions in the Mediterranean, characterized by an extraordinary diversity of landscapes and microclimates. Vineyards stretch from the coast to the higher inland areas, on soils ranging from granite and limestone to ancient sand and volcanic formations. The warm climate, constantly influenced by the Maestrale wind, favors healthy grapes and wines with pronounced spice. Among the region's iconic grape varieties are Vermentino, Cannonau, Carignano, and Bovale, alongside numerous lesser-known indigenous varieties. In recent years, many winemakers have embraced an artisanal approach, emphasizing the character of the terroir and individual plots. Sardinian wines are distinguished by their aromatic intensity, balance, and strong Mediterranean identity.
